Two teenagers were fatally killed in an accident on Sunday in Escondido. The teenagers, Brandon Contreras and Ana Lira, were approaching an intersection in their Mustang when they were fatally struck by a Dodge Charger. According to NBC San Diego, the Charger was headed northbound on Ash Street when the driver ran a red light and hit the Mustang traveling westbound on El Norte Parkway.
The Mustang driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car upon impact. There was one other passenger who was in the Mustang, and they were transported to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Charger was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. This terrible accident was under investigation for hours, while police worked hard to determine the cause of the accident.
