On Monday, at least two people were injured after a chemical spill at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore in Montecito. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident involved a 300-gallon container of Oxonia Active or Hydrogen Peroxide. First responders were called to the scene where about 50 gallons spilled out of the container at one of the hotel’s loading docks.
Although very few details were released, we do know that two people were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. One person had chemical exposure to skin and another person had an inhalation injury. A portion of Hill Road had to be closed as emergency responders and crews worked the scene and cleaned the spill. Crews were reportedly able to contain and clean the spill before it was a threat to waterways or storm drains.
