Two Injured in Bicycle vs. Scooter Crash

On Wednesday afternoon, a Santa Barbara crash involving a scooter and a bicycle sent two people to the hospital. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the head-on collision happened on the 2000 block of North San Marcos Road. Apparently, a scooter was headed uphill and the bike was headed downhill at the time of the crash.

For currently unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided head on. The area of the crash did reportedly have some sharp switchback turns though. First responders were swiftly on the scene, and both riders were taken to Santa Barbara Hospital for treatment of injuries.

At this time, the crash is still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Although there is no word on the conditions of either person, the scooter rider apparently suffered from moderate injuries and the bicycle rider suffered from serious injuries.
