On Tuesday morning, an Uber car drove into a sinkhole on Olde Highway 80 in El Cajon. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened near Pecan Park Lane. Initial reports indicate that the sinkhole was caused by a water main break that happened sometime around 4:00 a.m. Crews were called out to the scene, but not before the Uber drove into the El Cajon sinkhole. Thankfully, the driver and passenger were able to climb out of windows as water began to fill the car.

As of 11:30 a.m., water service in the area was still turned off. A portion of Pecan Park Lane at Olde Highway 80 had to be closed indefinitely for repairs. Padre Dam Municipal Water District crews are likely still trying to determine what caused the water main to break.
