UCSB DUI Crackdown

The University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) Police Department will be cracking down on drunk drivers this week. A DUI checkpoint and crackdown is being conducted on Friday night. According to KSBY News Channel Six, law enforcement officers will be on the lookout for drug and alcohol impairment behind the wheel, as well as driver’s license violations.

The campus police department plans to have a DUI checkpoint area at an undisclosed campus location. The operation is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Police officers are hoping the operation will promote public safety, get drunk drivers off of the road and raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
