This morning in Danville, a UPS semi-truck crashed into a parked minivan, killing the UPS driver. Packages were spilled out onto the freeway bringing the Monday morning traffic to a complete stop. This accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on the southbound 680, north of El Pintado Road. The Mercury News stated, “The UPS carrier ran into a Ford Windstar that was stopped on the right shoulder but had been abandoned.”

The truck overturned and struck a large metal pole after hitting the minivan. The driver was immediately taken to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Traffic remained on the freeway until mid-morning. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time; however, officials do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. The team at Harris Personal Injury lawyers send our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the UPS driver.
