On Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle crashed over the side of Highway 154. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened near the intersection with Old San Marcos Road. Very few details have been released about the one-vehicle wreck, but we do know that emergency responders on the scene had to rescue the driver from the wreckage. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, flipped over and slid about 200 feet down the hillside next to the highway.
After being hoisted back up to the roadway, the driver was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. She was subsequently booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail, and this wreck remains under investigation.
