On Tuesday night, a vehicle went over the side of Highway 154 near Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened about a half mile below Windy Gap, sometime before 9:00 p.m. Very few details about this crash have been released, but we do know that westbound lanes in the area had to be shut down as crews and first responders worked. When first responders arrived on the scene, they were unable to locate anybody inside of the vehicle.

Roadway conditions were wet and rainy at the time of the crash. In spite of search efforts, first responders were unable to locate the driver, and the road was reopened at about 11:00 p.m. This cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
