Vehicle Hits Semi-Truck in Escondido

Earlier this week, two people were injured when a vehicle hit the back of a big rig on Interstate 15 in Escondido. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened near Del Lago Boulevard early on Thursday morning. Very few details have been released, but we do know that a man and a woman were in a stolen Ford Fusion when the vehicle struck and got wedged under the back of a semi-truck.

The driver and the passenger in the Fusion had to be extricated from the wreckage. They were both transported to Palomar Hospital for treatment of major injuries. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported on the scene. The driver of the fusion was also possibly suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. This wreck is likely still under investigation by law enforcement officials.
