This weekend, the San Luis Obispo Police Department is going to have a DUI checkpoint in an effort to crackdown on drunk driving related crashes in the area. According to The Tribune, the DUI checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location within the San Luis Obispo city limits. The DUI checkpoint, that will also include a driver’s license check, will run from Friday at 7:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.

The checkpoint is expected to be in a location that is known for a high frequency of injury causing and fatal drunk driving crashes. In addition to being on the lookout for signs of alcohol impairment, they will also be watchful for any signs of illegal drug use, over-the-counter, marijuana or prescription medication impairment behind the wheel.
