Woman on Skateboard Killed by Hit and Run Driver

Earlier this week, a woman on a skateboard was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Tarzana. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened on Tuesday at about 12:30 a.m. Apparently, a vehicle headed southbound on Tampa Avenue, just south of Oxnard Street, struck the skateboarder and fled the scene. The skateboarder has been described as a woman in her early 30s, but no additional details about her identity have been released.

There is surveillance footage of the collision, and the skateboarder appeared to try to get out of the way when she saw the car coming toward her. Unfortunately, the vehicle struck her, and the driver fled the scene. Authorities are looking for what is believed to be a 2013 to 2018 silver Toyota Avalon with possible front-end damage. Anybody with information is being asked to come forward.
