On Wednesday morning, a worker fell down a 40-foot hole at the U.S.- Mexico border wall prototype worksite. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened in Otay Mesa at about 10:00 a.m. The hole was reportedly about three feet in diameter, and the worker was able to extend his arms to slow the fall.

Very few details about this workplace incident have been released. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but thankfully the worker was not seriously injured during the fall. He was evaluated and treated for scrapes on the scene and was put back to work a short time later. The construction worker is employed by one of the companies selected to build a prototype of the U.S.-Mexico border wall.
