On Monday night, a San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Lieutenant was injured after a pickup truck ran a stop sign and slammed into his or her vehicle. According to NBC San Diego News Channel Seven, the incident happened in the 13000 block of Julian Avenue at about 7:12 p.m. The police lieutenant, who has not yet been identified, was traveling at approximately 30 miles per hour on Julian Avenue, when a southbound driver in a Ford Ranger apparently failed to stop at a stop sign.

The wreckage from both vehicles ended up in a residential front yard. Thankfully, there were no trick-or-treaters in the immediate vicinity of the crash. All three people involved in the wreck were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. This crash is still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
