On Wednesday morning in San Leandro, a big rig crashed and caught fire on the northbound SR-238 connector ramp to northbound I-880. The incident happened around 2:15 am when a 40-foot tractor-trailer carrying food and produce crashed into a center divide and burst into flames, according to NBC Bay Area. The driver was able to escape the truck with no injuries.  

The Alameda County Fire Department responded to the fire. Traffic was diverted from the northbound lanes of I-238 to I-880 southbound near San Lorenzo in Alameda County. At the time of the report, re-opening was expected around 1:30 pm.
