About a week ago, a vehicle was launched into the air by a runaway tire on the 118 Freeway in Chatsworth. According to KTLA News Channel Five and dashboard camera footage, a tire popped off of a Chevrolet pickup truck directly in front of a Kia. The Kia hit the tire and flew into the air. The Kia spun in midair and crashed back down onto the freeway on its hood. It landed resting on its side.

There was one occupant in the Kia at the time of the wreck. Thankfully, no major injuries were reported on the scene. No information has been released on how or why the tire popped off of the pickup truck. This incident may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
