On Saturday afternoon, a cyclist was struck and killed by a car in the Point Loma area. The crash took place around 2:48 pm in the Roseville/Fleet Ridge neighborhood, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. An elderly woman was driving a 2018 Chevy Volt westbound on Canon Street when she turned left on Evergreen Street and into the path of the cyclist, who had been riding his bike eastbound on Canon. The cyclist then hit the right rear door of the Chevy.  

The cyclist was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Chevy driver was not injured. At the time of the report, the investigation was ongoing.
