David Scopp
Profile

David Scopp approaches each case with the same care he would offer his own family. He is dedicated to protecting the rights of those injured by negligence and takes pride in standing up to insurance companies on behalf of his clients. His commitment has led to numerous successes at both the trial and appellate levels.

Before joining Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc., David operated his own firm where he focused on personal injury and appellate matters. Earlier in his career, he worked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the nation’s top Am Law firms, where he defended large insurance companies. That experience gave him valuable insight into the strategies insurers use to avoid fairly compensating injured individuals, insight that he now uses to strengthen his advocacy for plaintiffs. David also served as Editor-in-Chief of his law school’s law review, published a comment analyzing the constitutionality of the Endangered Species Act, and earned multiple CALI Awards for Excellence.

David has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2015 and 2016, an honor given to less than 2.5 percent of attorneys in California. He also maintains a strong professional reputation reflected in his 9.1 out of 10 rating on Avvo.

A former captain of the Middlebury College swim team, David remains drawn to the water and enjoys surfing and ocean swimming. He also volunteers with the Salinas Surf Club, a program that introduces students to ocean culture and expands opportunities for youth in the Salinas Valley. Outside of the office, David values time with his wife, their sons Caleb and Weston, and the family dog.
