Earlier this week, a driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into two parked cars in Chula Vista. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened at about 1:50 a.m. on 4th Avenue, near the Pacific Pointe Apartment building. After hitting the parked vehicles, the driver’s car came to rest on its side. The driver was able to smash out the rear window and climb out of the wreckage.  

Thankfully, nobody was in the parked cars at the time of the crash. The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries though. On the scene, law enforcement officers did not think that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. They did find a coffee cup in the wrecked vehicle. This crash may still be under investigation with local authorities.
