Driver, Pedestrian Killed in Seaside Crash
On Sunday night, two people were killed in a DUI crash in Seaside. According to KION 546, the crash occurred around 10:15 pm near the Sherwin-Williams store at Del Monte and Fremont Boulevard. The 19-year-old driver was traveling 100 mph when he drove onto the island at Del Monte and Fremont and hit a pedestrian. The driver was thrown from the car as it continued traveling onto Fremont, crashing through a raised partition and overturning.
Three other people were in the car and told police that they had all been drinking at the beach prior to the crash. The driver had a suspended license and was on DUI probation. At the time of the report, it was unclear whether the passengers would face charges.
