Last week, there was a fatal crash involving a suspected drunk driver in Vista. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Sunday morning, just before 10:30 a.m. on State Route 78, just east of Emerald Drive. Initial reports indicate that a person was standing near the center median on State Route 78, next to his disabled vehicle, when he was struck and killed by a 22-year-old suspected drunk driver.  

She was driving a Buick Verano in the Number 1 lane, before she switched lanes and struck the man standing beside his vehicle. First responders rushed to the scene. The man did not survive his injuries. The 22-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and subsequently arrested and charged with DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
