Earlier this week, there was a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate Five in Chula Vista. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Monday night. Initial reports indicate that several vehicles were involved. For currently unknown reasons, a car stalled in the middle lanes on the southbound side of the interstate. That vehicle was then hit by several other vehicles. Apparently, there were at least six cars involved in the pileup.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found one person had been ejected from a vehicle. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. All lanes on the southbound side of the Interstate had to be closed as crews worked the scene. This crash was described as a hit-and-run, and is likely still under investigation.
