Over the weekend, there was a fatal bicycle crash in Long Beach involving a tandem bicycle. According to KTLA News Channel Five, a 76-year-old woman and her husband were riding a tandem bike sometime before 12:30 p.m., near 2nd Street and Marina Drive, when they had a collision with a motor vehicle. Apparently, the motor vehicle driver left the scene, and at the time of the report, it was unclear whether or not law enforcement officials had tracked that person down.

In spite of wearing a helmet, the woman did not survive her injuries. The husband was reportedly treated for injuries. This crash is still under investigation with local law enforcement officials, and anybody with information or dash cam footage of the incident is being asked to come forward.
