A few weeks ago, there was a fatal crash in the South Lake Tahoe area involving a Tesla Model 3 and a Subaru Impreza. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the head-on collision happened on the evening of July 5th. At the time of the report, there were at least two confirmed fatalities in that crash, including an infant that was in the Tesla.  

Officials with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are currently investigating this crash and several others involving Teslas that have automated driving technologies. According to the news report, the NHTSA has sent investigators to look into at least 30 crashes involving Teslas with partially automated driving systems since 2016. This fatal head-on Tesla crash, and several others are still under investigation.
