Last week, there was an injury-causing electric scooter fire in the North Park area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened sometime before 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night at an apartment complex on Idaho Street. Apparently, an e-scooter was charging in the apartment, and when it was unplugged, it exploded and caused a fire.

The occupants and their pets were able to escape the second-story blaze with the help of quick-thinking neighbors. The resident suffered second and third-degree burns to her face, head, arms and neck and was rushed to a local hospital for immediate treatment. This is actually the third local fire suspected to be started by a lithium battery from an E-scooter or E-bike since March.
