Pedestrian Hit in High-Speed Chase in South Los Angeles
On Tuesday night, a pedestrian was hit by a driver during a high-speed chase in South Los Angeles. The pursuit initially started near the 405 and 110 freeways around 8:00 pm, according to ABC 7. A person driving a red Lexus failed to stop when officers attempted to pull them over for a felony warrant in Torrance, and began traveling at speeds of over 120 mph on the 60 Freeway in the San Gabriel Valley. The suspect allegedly hit the pedestrian near 92nd Street and Avalon Boulevard.
After striking the victim, the suspect kept driving and hit a black sedan. The chase eventually ended when the suspect lost control and crashed near 73rd and Avalon. The suspect was handcuffed and taken to the hospital to check for injuries. The victim was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition.
