On Wednesday evening, a pedestrian was struck and killed in Encinitas. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the collision happened on the 200 block of North El Camino Real at about 8:30 p.m. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian was a 37-year-old man. The driver did remain on the scene to cooperate with authorities.  

When first responders arrived on the scene, they immediately rendered medical aid to the pedestrian. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, but he did not survive his injuries. At the time of the report, there was no word on whether or not the driver was facing any citations or charges associated with the fatal crash. This incident may still be under investigation.
