On Tuesday morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills. According to KTLA, the collision took place around 6:00 am on the southbound lanes of the 101 near Winnetka Avenue. A pedestrian was reportedly attempting to cross the freeway when they were hit. The victim’s body flew over the K-rail and onto the opposite side of the freeway. They were pronounced dead at the scene.  

Two lanes in both directions were closed during the investigation. As a result, traffic was backed up between Tampa Avenue and Winnetka Avenue. The freeway reopened shortly before 10:00 am. At the time of the report, it was unknown how the pedestrian ended up on the freeway, reported ABC 7.
