San Diego Fire Rescue Captain Killed in Motorcycle Crash
Over the weekend, a Captain with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department was killed in a motorcycle crash. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on May 14th. Initial reports indicate that Captain Derrin Austin’s most recent assignment was at the San Diego International Airport Fire Station. He was reportedly a 32-year veteran of the department. Austin was also a Navy Seabee reservist for almost three decades.
Very few details about the motorcycle crash have been released. Additionally, there has been no word on whether or not there were any other vehicles involved in the crash or if anybody is facing any citations or charges. This fatal motorcycle wreck may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
