On Wednesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle accident injured several and backed up traffic on I-8 in San Diego. The incident happened just before noon in the Hotel Circle area in Mission Valley, according to FOX 5 San Diego. Five vehicles in the westbound lanes of I-8 near the Taylor Street exit were involved in the accident. Several people were injured, with some suffering major injuries. Eight people in total were eventually taken to the hospital.  

At the time of the report, heavy, stopped traffic was showing on I-8 between I-5 and SR-163, with some reporting traffic backed up as far as San Diego State University. Crews and tow trucks were on scene to clear up the debris.
