Earlier this week, there was a suspected drunk driving crash on State Route 94. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened at about 1:46 a.m. on Monday morning. Apparently, a BMW was headed westbound on the off-ramp to Euclid Avenue when the driver veered off of the roadway. The vehicle reportedly struck a tree so hard it was cut in half. 

First responders rushed to the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Additionally, a passenger initially left the scene, but then returned. That person was also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
