On Wednesday morning, a teenager was seriously injured in a car crash in the Chula Vista area. According to FOX 5 San Diego, the collision took place around 7:30 am at the Exploration Falls Drive and Hunte Parkway intersection. A juvenile driver and his teenage passenger were driving a Ford pickup truck westbound in the 1800 block of Hunte Parkway when the vehicle went off the road, crashed into a tree, and hit a fire hydrant.

The driver had pulled the injured passenger out of the truck by the time first responders arrived, and the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. At the time of the report, it was not believed that driving under the influence was a factor in the crash. The driver was cooperating with the investigation.
