Teenagers Driving Stolen Car Cause Multi-Vehicle Crash in South LA
On Sunday evening, two people were hospitalized when a police pursuit ended in a three-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles. According to KTLA, the incident occurred around 6:15 pm when LAPD officers spotted a stolen white Kia driving on Obama Boulevard. When officers attempted to pull the car over, the teenage driver failed to stop and instead led the officers in a pursuit. The driver ended up running a red light at the La Brea and Obama intersection, where she collided with a white Chevrolet U-Haul pickup truck and a BMW.
The front of the pickup truck was heavily damaged, while the driver’s side of the BMW was pushed inward with two windows blown out. The Kia also sustained frontend damage. Both the BMW driver and the pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. It was unclear if the teenage occupants of the Kia were injured, but both were taken into custody at the scene.
