Over the weekend, three people were killed and two others were seriously injured when an Amtrak train collided with a passenger vehicle at a crossing in rural Brentwood. According to CNN, the incident happened on Sunday at about 1:00 p.m. The train went through an intersection and collided with the passenger vehicle. This particular crossing, like many railroad crossings in rural areas, did not have a crossing arm gate.  

There were five people in the passenger vehicle at the time of the crash. Three of them were killed, and two others, including a child, were airlifted to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Currently, there has been no word on the conditions of the surviving injured passenger occupants of the vehicle. At this time, the railroad company BNSF is investigating this fatal crash, and the line is currently open to rail traffic.
