On Saturday evening in Madera County, an 11-year-old was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 41. According to Your Central Valley, officers responded to the crash around 5:30 pm, just south of Jewel Vista Drive. A man was driving southbound on Highway 41 in a 2015 GMC Yukon, while another man was driving northbound in a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado at the same time. A 2017 Buick Envision was driving directly behind the Chevrolet.

The GMC driver lost control due to the rainy weather and ended up overcorrecting, causing the GMC to veer into the northbound lane and into the path of the Chevrolet. The GMC’s right side collided with the Chevrolet’s front end, and the Buick crashed into the left rear of the Chevrolet.

The 11-year-old, who was a passenger in the GMC, died from her injuries. At the time of the report, CHP did not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
