Unsuccessful Passing Attempt Causes Head on Crash Near Camarillo
Earlier this week, there was a head-on collision caused by an unsuccessful passing attempt near Camarillo. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the wreck happened on the 118 Freeway near Walnut Avenue on Tuesday night. Initial reports indicate that a 2004 Saturn Vue was headed eastbound on the freeway, when he attempted to pass another vehicle. He was unable to successfully pass the vehicle, and he struck another car head on.
The driver of the second vehicle, also a Saturn, sustained major injuries in the crash. He was rushed to Los Robles Medical Center for treatment. The other driver was also injured, and he was taken to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. At the time of the news report, drugs and alcohol weren’t thought to be factors, but this wreck is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
