On Sunday morning, a woman was killed after crashing her truck off I-580 in Hayward. The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-580 near Grove Way around 9:30 am, according to The Mercury News. A Nissan Frontier was speeding in the lane closest to the center divider of the freeway when the truck suddenly swerved across all lanes, crashed through a fence, and went down a 60-foot embankment. The truck rolled over several times before coming to a stop. 

The driver remained in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the report, investigators were trying to determine what caused the woman to veer off the roadway.
