Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run in Imperial Beach
On Wednesday night, a woman died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Imperial Beach. The collision occurred around 11:00 pm in the 1100 block of Connecticut Street, according to ABC 10 News. Officers arrived on scene to find a female pedestrian lying on the ground with serious injuries. Despite paramedics’ attempts to save her, the woman was declared dead at the scene.
A red Chevrolet Camaro with a black racing pin stripe had been seen leaving the area. The sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter helped deputies locate the suspected car in the 700 block of Oneonta Avenue. The Camaro driver was arrested on multiple charges, including felony driving under the influence with injury and felony hit-and-run with great bodily injury/death.
