Injured Driver Saved From Burning Vehicle in SLO County
On Monday evening, a woman was rescued from her burning truck after crashing in San Luis Obispo County. The incident happened around 7:50 pm on Highway 58, three miles east of O’Donovan Road, according to The San Luis Obispo Tribune. The woman was driving her Ford F150 eastbound when she crashed, causing the car to roll over and catch fire. The flames also ignited the nearby vegetation on the side of the road. The woman was trapped in the burning vehicle due to her foot being pinned under the steering wheel.
A bystander spotted the wreck and ran over, kicking out the Ford’s passenger side window and helping the driver exit the truck. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The driver suffered a broken foot and was taken to a nearby hospital. It was determined that the crash was caused by an unsafe turn.
