On Saturday morning, one person was killed and another injured after their vehicle veered off the highway and hit a building in Oceanside. The incident took place around 9:50 am near the College Boulevard exit, according to FOX 5 San Diego. The vehicle went through a homeless encampment on the side of the highway, but there were no reported injuries. Aerial footage appeared to show pieces of the vehicle in an ampm convenience store parking lot.  

One of the vehicle’s two occupants was confirmed dead, while the other suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. San Diego County HazMat was called to monitor for hazardous materials since the crash site was near a gas station, but no immediate threat was found.
